Welcome to Mily on Piedmont — MIly’s first West Coast building located in the heart of Oakland, California. This stunning home offers the great service, amenities, and built-in kinship you can expect from a Mily home, with additional features that help make city living easy.
Moving in
Our goal at Mily is to make the entire moving process, leasing to move-in day to the every day as seamless and stress free as possible. On-site garage parking and elevators makes move-in a breeze. If you do run into any issues our experienced support team is here to help you navigate through any moving challenges. Once you finish unpacking take the time to explore and get settled: your new home offers the most convenient amenities to help you instantly feel at home.
The apartment itself is light and airy with modern finishes such as hardwood floors and stainless steel appliances and the most gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows. Sit back and read a book on a lounge chair in the secluded, outdoor patio space or get crafty with your kids in the ground floor art studio stocked with all the art supplies you need to create a masterpiece! We know things may get a little messy in the art studio but don’t worry, your brand new in-unit washer and dryer are waiting for you.
Explore the neighborhood
Now that you’ve settled into your new home, it’s time to explore the neighborhood. Oakland is one of the most diverse cities in the country, and Mily on Piedmont is situated between two of the most walkable, hip and culturally vibrant neighborhoods in the East Bay, with grocery stores, pharmacies, boutiques, and plenty of delicious restaurants nearby.
If it’s not clear already, Mily on Piedmont is named after Oakland’s famous Piedmont Avenue — a historic shopping district known for bespoke retail and award winning restaurants including Oakland’s only Michelin two-star-rated-restaurant, Commis, perfect for a special occasion or date night.
Everyone needs a great local coffee shop to rely on. Our favorite is Timeless Coffee, an all vegan coffee roaster, bakery, and chocolatier. If that doesn’t satisfy your sweet tooth, we suggest making a stop at the retro ice cream parlor Fentons Creamery for their famous Black & Tan Sundae. On your way back home, make sure to check out the numerous vintage boutiques and local bookstores, especially Spectacular Books where you can browse a curated selection of new and used books and even trade in books you already have for something new.
Take a walk to the local Mosswood Park where you will find a range of facilities such as basketball courts, baseball fields, play structures, and two dog parks. If you’re looking to soak up some of Oakland’s most gorgeous scenery, you can venture a little further and take a short drive to serene Lake Merritt where you can go boating, biking and even do some acro-yoga! Don’t forget to keep an eye out for some wildlife or even take a free walking tour to discover some of the 140 species of birds that have made Lake Merritt their home.

Take an art class
Fun fact: Oakland has more artists per capita than any other city in the country. Lucky for you, when you live at Mily on Piedmont you’ll have art at your doorstep… literally! Mily on Piedmont offers a floor community space which includes a family-friendly lounge and art studio. This unique partnership between Mily and Asé Arts connects Mily members, families and the larger Oakland community through art education.
Asé Arts is an Oakland-based arts service provider that specializes in building community through the process of art making. Using a social justice lens, Asé Arts utilizes the arts as a catalyst to provoke thought, conversation and change, while uplifting and building local communities.
As a Mily on Piedmont member, you are encouraged to connect with the wider Oakland community and enjoy the community space. You’ll be invited to attend weekly complimentary art classes and family-oriented programming available to all Mily on Piedmont members so you can unleash your inner artist.
Find your community
You’ve explored your apartment and your neighborhood, but what about your new built-in community? Mily’s all-inclusive app makes it easy to get to know your neighbors. Members can connect with each other, share resources, plan events and RSVP to a range of virtual events from fitness classes to toddler music singalongs.
